Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segmentwe are going to learn all about how to grow hollyhocks.
Now hollyhocks are found all overthe world and they grow so easily and they are really really hardy plants that can bestarted by seed or you can start them by division.
This particular plant is a rose mallow andit is related very closely to the hollyhock.
It grows in the exact same manner so it hasa big stem with lots of leaves and so it gets really tall with lots of flowers and thenit will bloom all Summer and then it will die back in the Winter.
So you can just cutthe greenery back or you can start them by the root and they will reseed themselves allover you just have to be careful with them.
They get huge, eight feet tall, gorgeous colorsin the full hot sun and as long as they are doing great then leave them alone.
You canalways cut them back here and there a little bit to encourage new growth and get even moreblooms but even if you live in a cold climate they will do really well.
They are an easyplant to grow.
